EDUCATION
As your Councilor I want to develop the abilities of our youth by providing the appropriate tools and training for them to compete in a rapidly changing world by. Adding an hour to the school day for extra-curricular activities; Improving English instruction; Reducing class size and raising academic standards; Removing junk food from schools.
PUBLIC SAFETY
Will fight to enforce all city ordinances to protect citizens and maintain a high quality of life in the city; Supports binding arbitration to resolve disputes between city departments and the Mayor/Councilors; Supports Firefighter and all emergency response teams.
ENVIRONMENT
want to make Methuen a city where protecting the environment is a way of life by…Encouraging recycling, composting and recuperation; Increasing green space to more than 8% of our land base; Providing safe and clean parks.
ECONOMIC & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
I will advance efforts to make Methuen more attractive for new busi- nesses to locate here or expand operations; Seeks private partnership by providing assistance to small businesses; Will oppose All unnecessary tax increases.
FAMILIES/SENIORS
I want to make family life easier and build a compassionate city by appointing a Commission to evaluate family issues and racial harmony. Working to improve home care for seniors; Advocating for elderly/youth concerns and issues; Promotes cultural sensitivity through Methuen Harmony Week. Works to secure racial peace and equal justice among all ethnic/racial groups.
RESIDENTIAL GROWTH
Place more emphasis on affordable housing; Supports a flat rate system to conserve water; Improving streets and sidewalks and installing/repairing street lights/signs; Advocates for better snow removal and cleaning of sidewalks...
